When to visit Berlin

Berlin, in Germany’s northwest, profits from the temperate climate at the transition from oceanic to continental climate.

The Summers are warm and sometimes humid with average temperatures of 19 degrees. During the Winter months the average temperature is only about 2 degrees.

Berlin is Germany’s greenest metropolis with more than a third of its 891 square kilometers covered with forests, parks, gardens, rivers and lakes.

Berlin is one of the most significant centres of politics, arts, music, architecture, fashion and history worldwide. It is home to many renowned universities, orchestras, museums, entertainment venues, and is host to many sporting events like the UEFA Champions League Final 2015. Its urban setting has made it a sought-after location for international film productions. The city is well known for its festivals, diverse architecture, nightlife, contemporary arts, and a high quality of living. Berlin is also Germany’s “melting pot“ with inhabitants from more than 180 countries and hosting 158 foreign embassies in its political district.
